The GRAY HAIR series spotlights local or regional writers who have long contributed to the literary life of the Buffalo or WNY area -- writers of, or over, a certain age. The programs are held at Hallwalls Cinema Room, 341 Delaware Avenue, on the second Wednesday of most months (except July and August) at 7:30 p.m. and admission is by $5 donation.
The series was created by ryki zuckerman for Earth's Daughters Magazine/ Collective in 2006. ryki coined the series' name, a pun on UB's (David) Gray Chair which endowed UB's Poetics Program, both as nod to the program's "avant garde isolationism" (quote: Mike Kelleher) and to the elders -- poets, writers, playwrights, storytellers-- reading in the series.
This program is funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature; administered by Arts Services Initiative of Western New York.
